Alex Wisser is a professional photographer specialising in photojournalism, portraiture, event photography, performance and art documentation. He has over five years experience photographing for News Ltd newspapers in the Sydney area and his photography has taken him overseas and across Australia. His work has appeared in national magazines and major art institution publications.
Alex has been short listed on several occasions in Headon and The Moran photographic prizes, the Win Schubert and Josephine Ulrick photographic portrait prize and the DUO magazine Percival Photographic Portrait Prize and has received high commendations at The Bowness Photographic Prize and The Marrickville Contemporary Art Prize. In 2007 he won first place in the professional category in The Sydney Morning Herald, My Heartland competition.
Alex recently photographed for artist Deborah Kelly’s Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, commissioned art work “The Miracles” for the Contemporary Australia exhibition 2012.
